Description
Kambu Murukku is a type of Murukku, a traditional South Indian snack, made using Kambu flour, which is also known as Bajra flour or Pearl Millet flour.
To prepare Kambu Murukku, Kambu flour is mixed with rice flour, urad dal flour (black gram flour), and spices such as cumin seeds, sesame seeds, chili powder, and asafoetida. The dough is then kneaded well with water to achieve a smooth consistency.
Using a Murukku press or a special mold, the dough is then shaped into spiral or coil shapes directly into hot oil and deep-fried until golden brown and crispy. The end result is a crunchy and flavorful snack that’s enjoyed as a teatime treat or during festivals and special occasions.
